Q. "Error 0xc0000005:" displayed in log file when installing AutoPIPE

Problem:

When trying to install AutoPIPE, an error message message was found in installation log file:

Why does this occur and hod best to avoid it. 

Solution:

This appears to be caused by an antivirus blocking the program (Sentinel One anti-virus). Two options are possible

1. Disable the antivirus ( ex. Sentinel Agent) and test the program

2. Add the program to exceptions in the antivirus settings. 

It may be useful to exclude the AutoPIPE folders and sub-folders:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Bentley\
C:\ProgramData\Bentley
C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Bentley
C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Temp
Also, creating exceptions for the various types of files used by AutoPIPE products can be helpful. For a complete list contact Bentley AutoPIPE

3. Try launching the program from the executable file and run as administrator. 

4. In some cases the anti-virus software may have prevented the application from installing correctly and therefore completely uninstall, reboot (important), download a fresh copy of the application from the Software downloads, and reinstall will be required.

If the problem persists after exhausting all attempts made from above information, then please log a Bentley Service Request and provide a WINDBG log file for review.
