Problem:

The following message appears when opening a model in AutoPIPE:

---------------------------
Note
---------------------------
N15-12:   Cannot find library associated with the model
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

Solution:

This message appears because of the reason given, the Material library specified on the Tools> General Model Options dialog screen:

The Material file name extensions are *.Lib. When a model is opened in AutoPIPE, the program looks in for the material files in 2 locations:

1. AutoPIPE installation folder, (by default = C:\Bentley\AutoPIPE V8i SELECTseries).

2. The same folder location as the file being opened.

If the program cannot find the file referenced in the General Model Options> Material selection field, the Note message above is displayed. At this point the user has 2 options:

1. Press OK button and select a different material library from the current drop down listing.

By choosing this option, the newly selected material library may not have the same material or material properties as the original, best to get a copy of the original material file into one of the folder locations mentioned above. Otherwise, by selecting a different material library the user may need to update the model with custom material / data by using NS (Non-Standard) settings or one of the following methods here

OR

2. Press OK button, close the model, and get a copy of the indicated material library file into one of the two locations mentioned above.

OR

3. BEST Option, Press OK button, close the model, go back the source of the file and request an AutoPIPE APC file.

example:

a. Someone out side of the company sends a model for review, call back the sender and request an AutoPIPE APC file.

b. File was generated in house on an older version, search the server and computers where AutoPIPE files where created / backed up for the missing library file(s).

Note:  All companies are advised to thoroughly understand what an APC file is and its value / protection  provided. Highly recommend incorporating creation of an APC file during the work day, as a form of revision control, and archiving at the end of a project.
