Problem:

How to model a nozzle attached directly to cone small diameter end?

Solution:

A nozzle analysis will require area reinforcement check for a nozzle cutout on a pressure boundary like a head or a shell or a cone side and calculation for this type of connection configuration for a nozzle welded to a cone  small end directly is not provided in code hence AutoPIPE Vessel does not allow it and you cannot directly model it.

Workaround

1. Model a shell on the cone representing the nozzle neck (which will be analyzed as a regular cylindrical shell under the load conditions)

2. Insert a body flange/standard flange) on the shell representing the nozzle flange (which will be analyzed as a regular body flange under the load conditions if body flange is used or as a standard flange)
