How to create loads, combinations, and run an analysis with AutoPIPE Nozzle
1. Start AutoPIPE Nozzle application
2. Open the DEmo1.Noz file that is installed with the program by default to the following folder:
C:\Bentley\AutoPIPE Nozzle V8i.
3. With the model opened, select the Loads TAB and Enter forces and moments In the sequence of steps below:
a. Enter the number of load cases to be defined: Thermal, Seismic, Wind, and Pressure = 2 (each)
b. Enter the forces and moments for the load cases in the highlighted area shown below::
Gr, dead weight Thermal cases = T1, T2 etc...
Seismic cases E11, E2 etc... Wind cases W1, W2, etc.
c. Click on the Combinations button here, to open the Combinations Dialog screen:
4. Combinations Dialog:
a. Load Cases Tab, Either manually select the load cases to be considered or click On/Off button to select all combinations.
b. Auto Combinations Tab, Click on the Auto button to create automatic load combinations, unselect any not required.
c. When completed, press the OK button in the top right corner of the dialog to return to the main screen of the program.
5. Run the Analysis using 1 of 3 methods:
a. Click the "Analysis" button (shown below)
b. Select Analyze> Stresses from the menu
c. Press F5 keyboard key.
6. Results are calculated and displayed in the grid. Select the "%" column heading to put the entire column in chronological order of descending / ascending values. The same functionality is available for the "Actual" or "Allowable" column headings.
