Problem:

After joining a segment, noticed that portion of segment end was now missing from the model.

Why?

Solution:

First check the Model's input listing sub-reports:

Segment Data Listing

Coordinates Data Listing

Confirm that the start and ending node points match:

Example:

See Coordinates data listing for segment i starts with O00 and ends with I07

However, according to the Segment data listing, Segment I starts with O00 and ends with I05.

When joining other segments to segment I and automatic renumbering node points will cause nodes I06 - I07 to be permanently removed from the model as they do not exist according to the segment information.

Thus joining the segments corrected an abnormality in the database. At this time there are no know steps to repeat this issue or how was the user able to insert node points without them being correctly accounted for on the segment level of the database. If you have any steps to repeat or experienced this issue, please report them in a Bentley Service Request; be sure to reference this WIKI, add AutoPIPE APC file, and if possible exact steps to repeat.

Avoidance, none, if parts of the model were remove, manually add the missing node points back into the model again.
