The following is displayed while running AutoPIPE:
E751-1 Tee type gt 8 or lt 1. SIF not calculated
This is happening due to some corrupt data in the model regarding the “Types of Tee” or SIF values on
which the issue is produced.
Finished, by performing this procedure will reset the type of tee and SIF calculation in the model database.
Go to the Tee tab of the input grid.
Group similar types of tees together by double selected the “Type” column heading.
Changed first tee in a group to a different “Type of Tee”, example: change all Welded to Fitting by changing
the first cell, highlight first cell, grabbed lower right corner dot until it changes to a “+”, drag down to last one in the group. All the tee types should have been changed and the SIF recalculated.
Change all tees modified in previous step above back to original setting, example: change Fitting back
to Welded (original setting).
Repeat 2 previous steps for each group of tee Types.
NOTE: If tee has more than 3 legs, Type of Tee would be currently set to “Other”. If the user tried
to change this setting to another type (ex. Welded), the program would displaye the following:
---------------------------
Warning
---------------------------
W165-5: The tee at point A05 does not meet the conditions to apply the equations for SIF and other stress indices for the selected tee type because the tee has more than 3 legs. It has been reset to "Other" tee type.
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------
Press OK button, Type of Tee will be still set to “Other”, however the SIF values would change to 1.00
for both SIF In/Out plane. Manual re-enter the correct SIF values for all “Other” tees as required.
Note
If Tee type was Blank and the tee is not indicate on the Input grids, round trip the model, if that does not fix the model, create a Service Request, reference this WIKI and send AutoPIPE APC file for review. Essentially the model is corrupted and needs to be manually fixed by a database tool used by the developers only. Also, indicate any history about the model, how it was created, was any copy/paste funtion used, etc..
Another step to help reset the model database is changing the Tool> Model Options> General > Piping code to a different setting, press OK button on the dialog screen, press OK as required to pop-up windows, and then change the Piping code back to the original value.
Warning: This may change some pipe properties in the model, please review all pipe properties to be correct after reseting the piping code. In addtion, confirm Tools> Model Options> Edit & Results settings to be correct.
If the error occurred while importing a converted PCF file to AutoPIPE NTL file (file location, same folder as PCF converted file), open the converted NTL file in a word editing program and confirm all the Tee settings in the entire file. The file structure (i.e. Column location, Rows, and values) must 100% correct any error will cause a warning/error when imported into AutoPIPE.
Please see the following AutoPIPE help section:
Help > Contents> Search Tab> enter "Command Card Reference" (include the quotes), press List Topics button, double click on the selected topic from the list provided to see more information.
Actually in PCF file some piping may have define welding gaps between components which are greater than default tolerance value (0.001 inches), Change PCF Settings> Tolerance equal to a larger value.
Example, reset tolerance value equal to 0.5 inches.
This should then be able to correctly import all segments connected together as they should be.
If this occurs, your model has some corrupted components and needs to be fixed. Please send the AutoPIPE APC file to Bentley TSG by submitting a Service Request, and reference this WIKI page. Again, send the APC file and additional information on how the model was created, ex. copy / pasting, importing a PCF file, from scratch, etc...
How to fix an affected model, example:
A model sent in was reviewed by the CAE development team found a single extra data record that was shared by a flange and 5 tees. The model was fixed by manually removing the referenced flange, fixing the affected tees records, and adding the flange back into the model.
