1. When modifying beam component dialog was found to be blank and AutoPIPE crashes, why?

Problem:

Model is stable when performing general edits, analysis, and reporting tasks. However when making a modification by opening a Beam element dialog the following is displayed and the program crashes:

How to avoid

Solution:

 There may be any number of reasons why this may happen. However try the follow following workaround:

Option #1:

a. Save the model using File> Save As> AutoPIPE 11.0 model (*Dat). 

Note, be sure to confirm all the changes made to the model by saving backwards.

b. Start AutoPIPE and then open the newly saved file. 

c. Try to change the Beam component. 

d, Make additional changes to the model as mentioned in the Save as *.MSG report file (ex. update piping code edition, material library, etc..)

Option #2: 

a. Round trip the model using procedure here

b. Next start AutoPIPE and then open the newly saved file. 

c. Try to change the Beam component. 

d. Make additional changes to the model as recommended by the comparison of the a complete report before and after Roundtriping the model.

If these workaround solutions do not fixe the issue, please log a service request and attach the model's APC for review.
