Problem:

How to remove piping connecting 2 parallel runs of pipe with out disturbing the 2 parallel runs of pipe?

Solution:

This is a very easy process, but let us take a moment to talk about it.

Inside of AutoPIPE piping segments are built be establishing a node point in space and then each node point added to the segment is based on standing on the existing node point and projecting out to the next node point (ex. Dx, Dy, Dz). Again, this offset establishes the next node point. Therefore if one was to simply remove a single node point from the middle of a segment then the remaining pipe would be based on the offset from the previously deleted point

Example Node A28 was deleted

How does one just remove the piping betweenA141 and A28.

Easy, delete the piping using these steps:

a. Start (turn on segment color map to help the user visualize the steps)

b. Insert a temporary node point anywhere between 2 existing node points, ex A199

c. While this new node point is active, use AutoPIPE command Split Segment(s) (Home > Operations > Segments > Split Segment(s))

d. Delete temporary node point, ex A199 from both segments

e. Done!!!

How easy was that?

Happy days...
