The Generate Profile Polylines tool generates reference elevation lines aka Profile Polylines through supports and between supports automatically, but in order to do so design strips need to be modeled first and those design strips need to have the Support Definitions correctly defined (i.e. each design strip has supports identified at columns, walls and stiff beam locations). If the tool is used before modeling design strips, nothing will happen.
It's also important for the "Polylines to generate" setting to match the layer viewed, otherwise the new lines will not be immediately visible.
The Generate span polylines tool generates low point elevation references (aka span polylines) between the support lines that are previous;y defined. In order for it to work, those support profile polylines need to be selected before using the tool.
If the banded tendon polylines and/or the distributed tendon quadrilateral objects are set to "Added" and none are set to Primary, then the result will be zero generated tendons.
"Added" tendons should always connect to a Primary tendon line.
