The page intends to list the Known Issues found in the currently released version of STAAD Foundation Advanced
Defect # | Issue Description | Workaround | Comments |
355927 | STAAD Foundation Advanced 8.0 cannot be launched when one clicks on Run STAAD Foundation Advanced from within the STAAD.Pro > Foundation Design tab. |
It has been found that the STAAD Foundation Advanced 8.0 installer was incorrectly writing the version information in registry which was causing this. As a temporary workaround, one can open up the registry editor ( Run > regedit ) and go to the key Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\STAAD Foundation Adv and change the LastVersion from 7.0 to 8.0 | Will be addressed in the upcoming release in early 2016 |
357274 | In some machines SFA 8.0 is failing to start due to missing Msvcr120.dll |
The error is due to the MSVCR120.dll being missing in those machines. This dll belongs to the Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013. Here is a workaround
Please download Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013 using the following link. Ensure that STAAD Foundation Advanced ( SFA ) is closed. Right click on the downloaded exe and choose Run as administrator to install it. Try running SFA and this time it should work. | |
