Defect #Issue Description WorkaroundComments
355927STAAD Foundation Advanced 8.0 cannot be launched when one clicks on Run STAAD Foundation Advanced from within the STAAD.Pro > Foundation Design tab.

It has been found that the STAAD Foundation Advanced 8.0 installer was incorrectly writing the version information in registry which was causing this. As a temporary workaround, one can open up the registry editor ( Run > regedit ) and go to the key Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\STAAD Foundation Adv and change the LastVersion from 7.0 to 8.0

Will be addressed in the upcoming release in early 2016
357274In some machines SFA 8.0 is failing to start due to missing Msvcr120.dll

The error is due to the MSVCR120.dll being missing in those machines. This dll belongs to the Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013. Here is a workaround

Please download Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013 using the following link.

Ensure that STAAD Foundation Advanced ( SFA ) is closed.

Right click on the downloaded exe and choose Run as administrator to install it.

Try running SFA and this time it should work.
