Problem:

The following appears in Event Viewer after AutoPIPE crashes:

Faulting application name: autopipe.exe

Faulting module name: ucrtbase.dll

Exception code: 0xc0000409

Also AutoPIPE log file has the following last line:

<error> Point Read: Invalid id

Why and how to avoid it?

Solution:

This issue has been reported one time. In that particular case the issue was related to a valve that was not correctly saved by the database. This issue could not be resolved by the techniques mentioned here.

There are no steps to repeat it this issue of a corrupted valve. Thus the development team had nothing to fix.

Workaround

If the same happens to you, log a service request, try to provide as much background about the model as possible, try to create exact steps to repeat, otherwise send AutoPIPE DAT file for review.

The only way of fixing the offending model was to send the model it in as an attachment to a service request where the development team used specialized tools not available to the general public to fix the database itself.
