Problem:
Valve is not listed in valve catalog, how should the missing valve be modeled in AutoPIPE?
Solution:
Note that in pipe stress analysis all that matters is the length of the valve, weight of the valve with /without actuator, surface factor, and end connections. Sometimes the library will have your particular valve, other times the specific valve is missing.
When the valve is missing you have 2 options,
1. Update the Component library to include the valve. This take a little effort and can be cumbersome. Note that you cannot add a valve spec.
2. Use Manufacture = AutoPIPE generic, and fill in the remaining information as needed.
Most of the time, suggest using option #2.
