Problem:

The following is displayed in the model *.MSG file?

*** ERROR: CANNOT PUT TEE AT THIS POINT. TEE IGNORED

What does this mean and how to fix it?

Solution:

The following was displayed in the model's *.MSG file

TEE A123 W
*** ERROR: CANNOT PUT TEE AT THIS POINT. TEE IGNORED.
*** LAST NODE PROCESSED: A234

There can be any number of solutions to this message, please review know solutions reported.

Solution #1:

While importing OPM -pxf file in AutoPIPE, systems generates an error listing multiple warning and error messages in the *.MSG fie. Upon reviewing this file, take note to both:

WARNING , PXF NODE xxx
*** ZERO LENGTH ELEMENT

TEE xxx W
*** ERROR: CANNOT PUT TEE AT THIS POINT. TEE IGNORED.

Come to find out in this case, the OPIM model contained one or more locations where a bend was modeled with 0.00 length. A new bug has been logged (1054206) to restrict creating PXF files through OPM containing 0.00 length components.

*** LAST NODE PROCESSED: A234

Solution #2:

While importing a particular CII file the following message occured:

*** LAST NODE PROCESSED: 4980
TEE  4980 F                                 0.0000    0.0000
*** ERROR: CANNOT PUT TEE AT THIS POINT. TEE IGNORED.

Upon searching the NTL file created during the import process, the following was found:

Investigate both locations

Line 242 appears to be ok

However, line 2151 is confusing as this is talking about putting an SIF on a tee that does not exist. Delete the line 2151.

Save file to a new name.NTL

After saving the new NTL file, use File> Open NTL to open the file.

The file import without issue.

For reasons unknown SIF values were assigned to a tee location that did not exist in the model. Removing this one line and the file could be imported.
