How to Activate AutoPIPE®

Subscription Entitlement Service is Bentley's new licensing model, providing enhanced security and optimized value for your Bentley Subscriptions. It is integrated with Bentley's Identity Management System (IMS) and the Bentley CONNECT technology platform to allow near real-time reporting of usage, improved alert messaging to users and increased administrative capabilities to license administrators in your organization. It will not only give you more options to monitor and manage usage but also provide new, advanced licensing features that will enhance digital workflows.

Activation

With Subscription Entitlement Service, all users must be registered with Bentley's Identity Management System (IMS) and sign in to the CONNECTION Client to access Bentley applications. Product activation will now occur through user sign-in to the CONNECTION Client with a valid IMS ID associated with their account. User sign-in will replace traditional activation keys, offering enhanced security as administrators will be able to control which users have access to Bentley software. License entitlements are granted and maintained through Subscription Entitlement Service's Entitlement Management Service. By signing into the CONNECTION Client users can also find their organization's projects, download software updates, receive relevant notifications, and track their usage.

For extended offline scenarios beyond the offline period of products (i.e. usually seven days), Subscription Entitlement Service provides the capability to reserve or check out licenses - click here for further details.

Alerts

Subscription Entitlement Service features the new license alerts notifications that can be set by an organization's license administrators to let the users know when they reach a set usage threshold. These notifications will alert the users that if they continue to use the product, a term license may be issued. The user in such a situation has the choice to quit the application before a license is used or acknowledge that a term license may be generated and proceed with starting the application, based on what settings the administrator chooses.

Evaluation Only - No license information

The product will run in evaluation mode.

Go to www.bentley.com to request activation information.

Silent Installation

For SES Licensing:.

AutopipeSetup.exe -s -LicenseType=Connect

Error History

The following outline identifies all major errors fixed in Release of AutoPIPE v12.8.4.

The following outline identifies all major errors fixed in Release of AutoPIPE v12.8.3.

The following outline identifies all major errors fixed in Release of AutoPIPE v12.8.2.

The Analysis Summary (sub-report: Code Compliance Combination Allowable Stresses) for General Piping code reports lists the user-defined allowable as zero instead of non-zero values. This issue is valid for all Allowable columns in this report if the Allowable is set to User-defined instead of Automatic under the Code Combinations tab of the Load Combinations dialog.

A remote code execution vulnerability in libxml2 could enable an attacker using a specially crafted file to execute arbitrary code within the context of an unprivileged process. This issue is rated as High due to the possibility of remote code execution in an application that uses this library.

AutoPIPE splits nodes into minus (-) and plus (+) faces when there is a possibility that the results on the two faces may differ, for example nodes having supports, forces & moments, change in pressure or temperature, or change in pipe properties etc. To filter display of results that are very close in magnitude, AutoPIPE limits the display of any two-faced node to only the minus face when the difference in the result values (stress, allowable, moments etc.) between the two faces is less than 1 unit.

In models where default English units file is used for output, program will only display both faces when the difference in the stress or allowable values is more than 1.0 psi. However, when default SI units file is used for output, program will only display both faces when the difference in stress and allowable values between the two faces is more than 1 MPa. In cases where the stress result on the positive face is higher than on the negative face, the higher stress value may not be reported. This is true for Code Compliance report, interactive stress results, and result grids.

The program does not calculate reducer SIF using B31J equations and clauses and always considers "Use SIF of 2.0" option.

Improper Handling of Exceptional Conditions in Newtonsoft.Json. Newtonsoft.Json prior to version 13.0.1 is vulnerable to Insecure Defaults due to improper handling of StackOverFlow exception (SOE) whenever nested expressions are being processed. Exploiting this vulnerability results in Denial Of Service (DoS), and is exploitable when an attacker sends 5 requests that cause SOE in within 5 minutes. This vulnerability affects Internet Information Services (IIS) Applications.

When performing static analysis on a B31J-enabled model, the value set in the Mass Points per Span field (Tools > Edit Model Options) may affect the stiffness of the model. The number of mass points should have no effect on the static analysis results and are normally required for dynamic analysis.

The following outline identifies all major errors fixed in Release of AutoPIPE v12.8.1.

When pressure temperature data is modified for one point, the program randomly modifies the data for other point(s) as well. The issue is that multiple points share the same record of pressure temperature data; therefore, modifying data for one point results in the modification of all points that share that record.

The following outline identifies all major errors fixed in Release of AutoPIPE v12.8.0.

For ASCE 2010 seismic code, the program is incorrectly fetching the values of Mapped Spectral Response (Ss) from the database file USMapSsS1.mdb against the provided latitude/longitude values.

The Flange Summary report when produced using Quick Reports output (Result > Quick Reports > Output Report) displays the stress ratio for flanges with ANSI check enabled as zero. This only occurs when the second flange at a node has ANSI check enabled. If both the flanges on a node, or the first flange on the node has ANSI check enabled, the result summary is displayed correctly. Moreover, this issue cannot be reproduced when the Flange method is set to other than ANSI check.

Using copy/paste operation for a selection set having piping points with soil applied may result in unintended changes in the model where the selection set is pasted. This issue extends to the Insert Model option. The copy paste operation may be performed in the same model or in another model. The unintended changes in the model input data may lead to unintended results, which may be unconservative.

The in-plane and out-of-plane SIFs defined in the 'Joint Type and User SIFs' dialog with the 'Override SIF' checkbox checked are not multiplied by 0.75 as required by the ASME B31.3 and B31.12 codes. This may lead to higher stresses being reported for sustained and/or occasional load combinations. This issue does not affect models with 'Use B31J' checkbox checked in General Model Options.

Time history location dialog was not accepting beam points. Fixed now so that the dialog accepts beam points too.

A user interface inconsistency may lead to gasket material and gasket configuration of a flange to be reset when the Flange Check dialog is closed and reopened. Also, checking the Auto Flange/Bolt/Gasket dimensions box.

This issue is only in input grid. When "Peak Ground Velocity" value is updated from "Soil ID" grid, program updates "Peak Ground Acceleration" value instead of "Peak Ground Velocity". The value of "Peak Ground Velocity" remains the same.

A bug in the input grid and when switching model code to B31.3 was preferring critical temperature equation over the weld factor table when automatically calculating the longitudinal weld factor in Pipe Properties.

An error in AutoPIPE's Flange Analysis Summary output report (SQO) omits certain flanges. This is caused by flanges that were introduced on a node after one or more non-flange extra data components are added to that node.

The "Pressure Correction for User SIF" checkbox in result model options is used to apply the pressure correction factor as defined by ASME B31 codes to user-defined stress intensification factors. This option is disabled by default. Pressure Correction for User SIF is only available for ASME B31 codes for all available editions. User-defined stress intensification factors are inserted in the model using "Insert > Xtra Data > Joint Type & User SIF". If user-defined stress intensification factors are inserted on a bend with "Override all other In-plane and Out-plane SIFs at this point" checked and "Pressure Correction for User SIF" result model option checked, depending on the pressure value and dimension of the bend, pressure correction factor can significantly decrease the stress intensification factor (i) for the bend to less than 1.0 (SIF values should not be less than 1) which may lead to unconservative bend stress values.

Effective Diameter of Bolts maybe incorrectly used based on Auto Flange/Bolt Dimensions box state in flange check. This bug is valid for all piping codes with definition of new flanges. All analysis methods for flange in program maybe impacted except ANSI check (as Effective bolt diameter not used).

This issue is limited to bend points in B31.3 piping code models. The Result Model Options 'Set Occasional SIF = 0.75i' is not applied on bend points when the 'Use B31J' option is checked. The full SIF value is used instead of reducing the SIF by 0.75.
