06. AutoPIPE: Scale / Mirror Command

The Home > Operations > Scale command enables the user to multiply point offsets in a range by a user-defined scale factor.

To mirror a model about a specific axis, use Home > Operations > Scale. Entering a negative value in the Scale dialog box will flip the selected points across the chosen axis.

Follow these steps to mirror the model:

  1. Select the portion of the model you want to mirror by navigating to Select > Selection > All Points (to select the entire model) or Range (to select a specific area).
  2. Go to Home > Operations > Scale, and in the dialog box, enter –1 for the X-axis value.

  3. Click OK, and the model will be mirrored about the selected axis.

Notes:
1. Negative values will mirror the points along the specified axis.

2. Beams and piping are scaled differently and therefore may no move together. This difference occurs because piping points are scaled with respect to offsets while beams are scaled with respect to their global coordinates. To correct the offsets for beams after a scale operation, select the beams and use the Home > Operations > Move/Stretch command.
