05. AutoPIPE: Move / Stretch Command

Users can select one point, or a range of points, and "stretch" the point or range of points, automatically changing cut lengths of the connections. Also, the Edit >Move Stretch can "slide" a component or group of components with or without changing the overall length of the system. This capability if very useful for "sliding" supports, valves, control station assemblies, expansion joint assemblies, frame assemblies from one position to another. Another good use is for pipe rack piping, copy/paste one line and offset from existing line then any changes in any direction can be made using Edit > Move /Stretch command.

Copy the segment then paste using the offset options shown below either from origin or from any other selected frame or piping point in the model

Examples of Selection:

      1. Use the Shift key to select a range of points:

Try this: Select A04, hold down the Shift key on the keyboard, and then select A07.
      2. Use the CTRL key to click multiple points, even those that are not adjacent.

Try this, select the current node point A02, hold down the Cntl key on the keyboard, and select node points A04, A06, A08.

Examples of Modifications:

1. Easily move every other support down the pipe:

Using the selection method above, select node points A02 - A04 - A06 - a08, select the move/stretch command, enter Dx = 0.75, press OK button.

2. Center 3 support (A03 - A05) between the adjacent supports (A02 and A06)

Using the selection method above, select node points range  A03 to A05, select the move/stretch command, enter Dx = -2, press OK button.
