Problem:

How to generate a report on only a portion of the model using Report Manager in AutoPIPE?

Solution:

Version 24.00.00.231and Later:

This feature was removed in version 24.00.00.231 because the primary purpose of Report Manager reports is to generate complete reports. Additionally, the option “Limit report to highlighted points” is not available in the Report Manager dialog box.

However, there is a workaround to achieve this. Please follow the steps below:

Step 1: Open the model and analyze the system.
Step

Step 2: Select the portion of the model where you want to limit the results.

Step 3: Use AutoPIPE’s command:
Result > Quick Reports > Output Report

Step 4: In the Quick Report dialog, enable “Limit reports to highlighted points”, add one or more sub-reports to the Selected Reports column, and click OK.

Step 5: Navigate to the temporary folder:
C:\Users\<profile name>\AppData\Local\Temp\AP_250001
(AP_250001 corresponds to the version folder, e.g., V25.00.001.213).
For eg: C:\Users\SHREY~1.SHA\AppData\Local\Temp\AP_250001

Step 6: Sort the folders by date. The latest folder will have your model's name. Open it and locate the file with the .db extension. Make a copy of this file.

Step 7: In AutoPIPE, generate the output report from Report manager (Output/ Word or Excel) from:
Result > Report Manager > Output Report.

Step 8: In Report Manager, go to File > Open Database and select the copied database file from Step 6.

Step 9: In the Available Reports column, you will now see the sub-reports selected in Quick Report. Move them to Selected Reports and generate the report.

Step 10: You will now have an output report containing only the highlighted node points.

Note: These steps can also be applied when generating Word or Excel reports.

Version 23.00.01.367 and Earlier:

Perform the following steps:

Step 1. With model open, analyze the system

Step 2. Select portion of model where results are to be limited too.

Step 3. Important, use AutoPIPE's command Output Report (Result > Quick Reports > Output Report)

Step 4. On the quick report dialog enable the "Limit reports to highlighted points", also, add one or more sub reports to the Right column or under Selected Reports, and press OK button.

Step 5. With the node points still select and highlighted Red, use AutoPIPE command, Report Manager (choose any of the options, i.e Text reports, Word reports, or Excel report.

Step 6. Configure the Results manager report as needed, only those items highlighted will become apart of the generated results.

Notes:

1. If the reports are blank or contain no node point results, confirm that the model has highlighted node points.

2. When completed, and want to see Report manager reports on all node points, again, repeat step 3-4 above, removing the "Limit reports to highlighted points", option, and then continue with steps 5-6.

3. When "No Rows returned from xxxxReport!", appears see note #2 above.
