Problem

Unable to create host MainForm error in StrucLink for STAAD.Pro V8i when creating an ISM repository.

Solution

Please check the path shown in the error message for Staad.Interop.ISM.config file to see that it exists where it is shown and that the user has permissions to save files to that directory (see path below).

C:\Users\user's.name\AppData\Local\Bentley\Engineering\STAAD.Pro V8i SS6\PlugIns\StrucLink\Staad.Interop.ISM.config.

If this seems to be OK, please uninstall all versions of StrucLink, install the latest version of Structural Synchronizer by following the steps from the link below.

Software Download Instructions

Note: For STAAD.Pro you may also need to move the STAAD model to a local directory.

UPDATE for STAAD.Pro CONNECT Edition:

Copy the folder StrucLink from C:\Program Files\Bentley\Engineering\STAAD.Pro CONNECT Edition\STAAD\PlugIns and paste that folder (and all its content) to C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Local\Bentley\Engineering\STAAD.Pro CONNECT Edition\Default\PlugIns\
