The following is displayed in AutoPIPE V8i 09.01.01.02 or higher versions when opening up the output results :
"Root Element Is Missing"
How to avoid this message?
Note: Are you using AutoPIPE CONNECT 10.01.00.05?
If yes, uninstall the current version of application and install v.10.01.00.08 or higher.
Otherwise, use the following steps:
1. Close AutoPIPE
2. What version are you using:
AutoPIPE v.10.x and higher
i. Open folder location:
User Profile location, %appdata% \Bentley\
Example: C:\Users\mike.dattilio\AppData\Roaming\Bentley\
ii. Search for and delete the following 2 files (if present) from only the folder location mentioned above:
a. APIPVIEW.INI
b. APIPVIEW.XML
iii. Go to step #
AutoPIPE v.9.1 - v.9.6
i. Open Folder location
default = “C:\ Bentley\ AutoPIPE V8i SELECTseries”
ii. Delete the following 2 files from the folder location mentioned above:
a. APIPVIEW.INI
b. APIPVIEW.XML
iii. Go to step #
3. Search computer for application file = "APIPVIEW.EXE",
AutoPIPE v.12x.and higher: C:\ Program Files (x86)\ Bentley\ AutoPIPE xxxx\ APReportViewer
AutoPIPE v.10.x to 11.x: C:\ Program Files (x86)\ Bentley\ AutoPIPE Connect
AutoPIPE v.9.1 - v.9.6: C:\ Bentley\ AutoPIPE V8i Select Series
4. Double click on APIPVIEW.EXE to RUN it. APIPView (AutoPIPE Report Viewer)
Doss the Report Viewer open without error?
If yes, close application, go to step #5 below.
If no, go to step #6 below.
5. Restart AutoPIPE, open a model, analyze the model as needed, and create an output report (ie. Results> Output Report>) with 1 or more sub-reports, and press OK button.
Doss the Report Viewer open without error to display the report?
If yes, great job well done! Stop here, the application is now working as designed. close WIKI and continue working.
If no, go to step #6 below.
6. If after following the steps above, the "Roots Elements is missing" message reappears,
a. Open WIKI here, perform steps to run WinDBG application, and save a log text file.
b. Please log a Bentley Case and include a ZIP file attachment with the following files from steps above:
a. WinDBG log text file
b. APIPVIEW.INI
c. APIPVIEW.XML
(Note: For AutoPIPE 12.x and higher, *.XML file may be located here - C:\ Program Files (x86)\ Bentley\ AutoPIPE xxxx\ APReportViewer\ [choose language folder, ex. EN])
