The latest CONNECT Edition RAM and STAAD products all use the Subscription Entitlement Service also known as CONNECT Licensing. This is different than prior versions with SELECT Licensing. We have written this Guide to help in understanding CONNECT Licensing, and how to set up Alerts. You must be signed into Communities to download it.
Here are a few basic steps to activate the product the first time:
Make sure the Bentley CONNECTION Client is installed and running, and that you are signed in.
We recommend updating to the latest version.
To confirm that the sign in is valid, go to the CONNECT Center. At the top next to "Home" you should see your Company Name.
If there is no company listed or the company is wrong, that indicates a problem with the particular sign in. The email address is likely not affiliated with the account. In that case the administrator should add you as a CONNECTED user. See CONNECTED User - Administrator Process
If this is correct, then start the Bentley Licensing Tool (you can also launch the tool from the Windows Start menu or from the application, e.g. Ram Manager go to Tools - Manage Licenses.
Confirm that your sign in is recognized there in the upper left corner
If the Products are not listed under Entitlements go through Tools - Refresh policy
To complete the activation use Tools - Activation Wizard.
