How to calculate the tensile stress in bolts of an AutoPIPE Vessel model?

Solution:

Calculation of the tensile stress in 1 bolt (refer to the image below) is performed as follows:

Tensile force in the bolt F = [(Mzz / (db/2) / nb) /2  - Fp]

Mzz is the bending moment due to wind or earthquake action

db is the bolt diameter (xb = db /2  in the calculation report)

nb is the number of bolt

RAV is the vertical load due to wind or earthquake action

Ws is the vertical load due to weight
