11. Results are different when using different versions of AutoPIPE Vessel

When using one version of AutoPIPE Vessel or MicroProtol the results do not match the if the same exact model is run in another version of the software. This WIKI page aims to answer why that is:

Item #1:

The tube sheet calculations were not the same when the model was run in Microprotol and then again in AutoPIPE Vessel. Why?

Answer:

The user was asked to submit 2 files, one from Microprotol and one from AutoPIPE Vessel.

The development team reviewed each model and determined that in the “Microprotol” they have defined 9 support plates and in the "AutoPIPE Vessel” 9 discs and donuts without cut%. In consequence, the buckling length of tubes are completely different and the tubesheet calculation also.

They were asked to correct the “AutoPIPE Vessel” model to match exactly with the Microprotol model, once done they were then able to obtained the same result as with the “Microprotol” model.

Lesson learned, confirm that the models in both versions are IDENTICAL.
