Problem:

How to be notified when a new version of AutoPIPE has been released?

Solution:

1. Use Bentley CONNECT software

2. Manually Check Bentley Communities

3. Subscribe to AutoPIPE's Announcement Forum

4. Subscribe to AutoPIPE's knowledge Base Articles

5. Sign up for Bentley announcements email

Option #1 - Use Connection Client

Notes:

a. There are 2 requirements in order to receive automatic notification of new software releases:

1. Install AutoPIPE CONNECT 11.01.xx.xx or higher.

2. Logged into Bentley CONNECTION CLIENT.

b. ***Important*** Connection Client application update command does not apply to Major released versions or product releases with an incremented "AA" version number (AA.BB.CC.DD). Notifications are provided for all other incremented releases (BB, CC, DD). Therefore, users must periodically check the Software Downloads, Communities landing KB page here, or AutoPIPE Announcement page here to see the current version of the application. (0209212)

Step #1: With CONNECTION Client opened, select the in the lower Left corner.

Step #2: Under Notification, make changes as needed.

Suggest to enable "Show desktop notification" (imaged below)

Step #3: Under Updates, make changes as needed.

Suggest:

a. Set "Notify me when new Updates are available"

b. Include recommended updates: enable check box

c. Notify me when new, related applications are available: enable check box

d. Press "Check Now" button

Note: the following should appear:

---------------------------
CONNECTION Client
---------------------------
No new updates are found.
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

If the following appears, go step #4 below.

---------------------------
CONNECTION Client

x update(s) found
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

If another message appear that is not self explanatory, please contact your company's appointed Bentley On-site Admin using instructions here.

Step #4: Press Close button to close the Settings dialog.

Step #5: After receiving message of new software under Updates (imaged below), close all Bentley applications, back inside of Connection Client, select anywhere on the "Updates" row to open a new dialog screen :

Step #6: Enable check boxes in front of the applications to be installed and press "Install Selected" button to continue.

Follow the on screen instructions as needed. This may take a few moments, and the it may appear that nothing is happening, just be patient and wait for it.

Option #2 - Manually Check Bentley Communities

Bentley Communities has a 3 locations to confirm the latest edition of AutoPIPE.

From AutoPIPE Landing page, select "AutoPIPE Announcement forum" tile

3. Bentley AutoPIPE's Download - Release Notes kb article - click here

Option #3 - Subscribe to Bentley AutoPIPE Announcement Forum

Open AutoPIPE landing page here and select the AutoPIPE Announcement Forum

On the next screen, in the top right corner select Subscribe.

Option #4 - Subscribe to Bentley AutoPIPE knowledge Forum

Open AutoPIPE landing page here and select the Knowledge Base Articles

On the next screen, select hyperlink for "Show All +"

Next Find AutoPIPE in the listing and check the bubble for Subscribed under the the tile (shown below)

Option #5 - Sign up for Bentley announcements email

After logging into your Bentley CONNECTION Center (see 2 methods here for logging in),

Select the person icon in the upper right corner of the page, and press on View Profile, shown below:

Select the Edit pencil icon from the page as shown below:

Press the button labeled "Manage Email Subscriptions

Enter your email address

Check your email, for an email

From: Bentley Systems <email@inform.bentley.com>

Subject: Confirm your email preferences to keep hearing from Bentley Systems

When the email arrives, read the entire email and select the button for "Update Preference"

Make choices as needed.
