How to view warnings and errors in STAAD Foundation Advanced ?

In current versions of the program (version 9 series), a button named "Analysis Output" will become active in the "Home" ribbon menu and will display all the errors and warnings encountered during the analysis.

In older versions (version 8 and older), you may however go to the installation folder of STAAD.foundation ( which would be C:\Staad Foundation Advanced CONNECT Edition or C:\Staad Foundation Advanced or C:\Staad.foundation 5.3 depending on which version of the product you are using) and look for a folder named Analysis. This folder would contain a filed named FoundationAnalysis.std which is the corresponding STAAD.Pro model generated by SFA during analysis.

In current versions of the program (version 9 series), this ".STD" file has the same first name as the name of the SFA file, and, is located in a sub-folder having the same name as the mat foundation job. You can make a copy of this folder at a different location and open the ".std" directly using STAAD.Pro. You can then see the analysis warnings by opening the analysis output file. Having said that, usually if the warnings affect the analysis, the STAAD Foundation Advanced analysis would stop and the Output window inside SFA would show errors. On the other hand if you see the "Analysis is completed" message inside the Output window, the warning messages would most likely be inconsequential.

NOTE : You should never edit the FoundationAnalysis.std file created within the SFA installation folder. Always copy it to a different location before opening it in STAAD.Pro.
