Is there any way to find out the magnitude of the base pressure at various nodes for a mat foundation in SFA ? I can generate the color contours which gives me an idea of the value range but I am looking for the actual values.

In the current and recent versions of the program (version 9 series and the 8 series), under the Mat analysis/design options page, go into the "View Output options" page and switch on the "Show Soil Pressure" option. The soil pressure diagram will be plotted in a contour form.

In older versions (version 7 and older), the above mentioned feature is not available. However you can find out the values using STAAD.Pro in conjunction with STAAD Foundation Advanced. In those versions, after the analysis is completed in STAAD Foundation Advanced, a STAAD.Pro model is created automatically by the software in the background. This file is FoundationAnalysis.std and is created inside the installation folder of the software  ( For example X:\Staad Foundation Advanced 7\Analysis if you are using SFA version 7.x  or  X:\Staad Foundation Advanced CONNECT Edition\Analysis if you are using ver 8 etc. where X is the drive in which STAAD Foundation Advanced is installed ). Copy this .std file to a separate folder and analyze in STAAD.Pro ( DO NOT MODIFY the original file ).

In STAAD.Pro, go to the Post Processing Mode, Node > Base Pressure table and you will be able to see the base pressure values at the various nodal points in the mat.
