Problem Description

RAM Concept crashes during start-up. Clicking the desktop shortcut or Concept.exe causes the wait cursor to appear for a moment and then nothing happens.

Solution 

The issue is fixed in the release 08.03.00.138.

In the meantime, use the steps below to resolve the problem:

1) Open Windows Notepad (or other text editor), copy/paste the 2 lines below, and save it with the filename qtlogging. After the file is saved, change the file extension from .txt to .ini, so that the file is qtlogging.ini

2) Place the INI File in one of the location options below. Please note the pros and cons of each option.

Option A

 The Concept installation folder:  "C:\Program Files\Bentley\Engineering\RAM Concept CONNECT Edition\RAM Concept CONNECT Edition V8"

Pro: only affects Concept, for all users

Con: requires admin privileges

Con: may have to be restored after uninstall/reinstall

 

Option B

%LOCALAPPDATA%\QtProject folder (may need to be created)

Con: affects all Qt apps, for only this user

Pro: no admin privileges

Pro: won't need to be restored

3) Once the file is placed, restart the machine and launch RAM Concept and confirm that the program opens without crashing.
