Bentley’s Integrated Structural Modeling (ISM) allows structural engineers and designers to share structural engineering project information among modeling, analysis, design, drafting, and detailing software applications.
More details on the philosophy behind ISM and how the process works can be found HERE. The chart below shows how structural engineering and BIM software brands interoperate with one another using ISM.
Create ISM Repository
Select File > Import/Export > ISM > Create Repository to create a new ISM repository by exporting an analytical piping model. This ISM repository can be later imported or opened in other Bentley ISM-aware applications.
Notes:
- This technology has been replace with iTwin Analytical Synchronizer.
- At this time only geometry is supported by ISM files from AutoPIPE, no other information will be written to ISM files.
