Why Local stresses in the conical shell & Flat head has not been calculated?

Problem:

Vessel is designed for ASME Section VIII Div. 1 and local load is checked against WRC 107.

Local stresses in the shell has not been calculated, Why?

Answer:

WRC Methods:

    1. The WRC methods do not provide procedures for evaluating local loads on conical shells. Therefore, local stress results for conical shells are not available, as this condition is outside the scope of WRC.
    2. Similarly, nozzles on flat covers are also outside the scope of WRC bulletins. AutoPIPE Vessel does not currently implement any alternative methodology to evaluate stresses due to nozzle local loads on flat covers.

PD 5500:

    1. PD 5500:2024 does not define explicit calculation procedures for determining local loads on conical shells or flat heads. As a result, these checks are not performed, and corresponding results are not available because they fall outside the scope of the code.
