Linking directly with ETABS
RCDC can now directly link to and import the analysis data from an analysis model analyzed in Etabs 2015 and above (*.edb). For fetching the Model Data, it requires the Microsoft Data Base file (*.mdb) which is generated from Etabs itself.
1.For creating the *.mdb file, select only Model Data from Table (Refer below snap). Procedure for creating the *.mdb file remains the same as explained in “Exporting Data from Etabs Post Analysis”. The name and location of the *.mdb file remains same as that of the *.edb file, hence the user need not make any changes.
2. Once the *.mdb file is ready, RCDC can now directly link to the *.edb file, user should just select the *.edb file (Refer below snap shot)
3.While RCDC links to Etabs for data extraction, Etabs file will be opened at back for an instance and then will be automatically closed.
4.In case if the model contains steel sections, then RCDC will require *.e2k file too along with *.edb and *.mdb file with same name to be present in the same folder
