Special Notices
The installation of ISM Revit Plugin CONNECT Edition will automatically uninstall any previous versions that were installed. This version of ISM Revit Plugin can be run in Revit 2021, Revit 2022 and Revit 2023. ISM Revit Plugin requires iTwin Analytical Synchronizer.
Important: Due to the drastic changes in REVIT 2023 API - For this version of ISM Revit Plugin, we have temporarily suspended support for "Using analytical member as basis for export". This option, when enabled in previous versions, uses the locations and connectivities of REVIT's analytical model as basis for export. With this ability to use this option suspended, ISM Revit Plugin will continue to work as before based on locations of members in the physical model.
Prerequisite steps for REVIT 2023: ISM Revit plugin depends on some member properties (e.g: Analyzed As = Lateral vs Gravity etc..) pulled from the underlying Analytical Model to proceed with conversion. Many applications (STAAD and RAM) relies on this property being set to enable interop. Prior to REVIT 2023, Revit creates the analytical model (with default values) when physical structural elements are placed. The ability to set the Analyzed As flag for members was also present as a field right alongside physical properties.
This behavior changed in REVIT 2023 itself. Creating the physical model within REVIT does not automatically generate the underlying analytical model "on the fly" and setting the Analyzed As flag on users behalf. Consult Revit literature on these changes.
For users coming from REVIT 2021 and 2022, proceed to generate the underlying analytical model prior to using ISM Revit Plugin (as noted above the Physical Model location will still be used as basis for export). The below steps is a prerequisite in REVIT 2023 and ensures successful interop downstream.
REVIT 2023 > Analyze > Analytical Automation
Proceed through the wizard to create the underlying structural analytical model.
Failure to generate the underlying analytical model as described above will result in missing properties/members in the ISM File Repository and poor results downstream.
