Allowable longitudinal compressive Stress (σ c,all) is not calculated as per EN13445-3 Clause 16.14-29, Why?
Instead, the software reports the design stress value as the allowable longitudinal compressive stress. Please clarify.
Generally, the allowable longitudinal compressive stress (σc,all) is calculated in accordance with EN 13445-3 Equation 16.14-29.
However, Clause 16.14.8 states that when the condition defined by Equation 16.14-15 is satisfied, the design stress (f) may be used directly as the allowable longitudinal compressive stress (σc,all).
Therefore, the calculation procedure of Equation 16.14-29 is not required when Equation 16.14-15 is fulfilled.
Example:
In this case (Operating Corroded condition),
D/ea (24.65) ≤ 0.06 * E / Sigma e (107.38)
As equation 16.14-15 satisfied design stress value is taken as allowable longitudinal compressive stress.
