OpenPlant Isometrics Manager
The purpose of this document is to provide a general understanding of the OpenPlant Isometrics Manager module, which enables you to create intelligent isometric drawings from any iRING-compatible 3D model, while working in real time with the same model as the rest of the project team. AutoPIPE uses OpenPlant Isometrics Manager to generate pipe stress isometric drawings for engineers to maintain a visual record of the pipe stress analysis model and to summarize design information used to model a safe piping system.
The OpenPlant Isometrics Manager module replaces the StressISO module beginning with the AutoPIPE V8i (SELECTseries 5) Maintenance Release 2.
Features
The following are some of the major features of OpenPlant Isometrics Manager:
Licensing
The File > Save Stress Isometric option is available free of cost with either an AutoPIPE Advanced or Nuclear license (note, Standard AutoPIPE license will not generate a Stress Isometric). No separate license for OpenPlant Isometrics Manager is required to produce Stress Isometrics from AutoPIPE or to open recent Isometrics in OpenPlant Isometrics Manager through the AutoPIPE menu commands.
Question: Does either of these messages appear?
Answer: Please see WIKI here.
Three AutoPIPE File menu options are provided to support the OpenPlant Isometrics Manager functions:
Save Stress Isometric
The File > Save Stress Isometric menu command displays the Save Stress Isometric dialog, which enables you to save the current Stress Isometric to an external DWG, DGN, or DXF file. The following options are available:
Note: In order to print / save an AutoPIPE isometric to Adobe PDF; export one of the formats listed above, set stress iso Viewer to use OPIM (Free with AutoPIPE Advance / Nuclear license), Bentley Viewer or other Cad application that can open these file formats and then print / save a PDF file from that application. With this workaround already in place there is no need to add a feature inside of AutoPIPE to generate an isometric straight to a PDF file, however one is being considered (923740).
Launch OpenPlant Isometrics Manager
The File > Launch OpenPlant Isometrics Manager menu command launches the OpenPlant Isometrics Manager from within AutoPIPE, which can be used to review/modify existing OpenPlant Isometrics Manager files.
Open Recent OpenPlant Isometric
The File > Open Recent OpenPlant Isometric menu command displays the Recent OpenPlant Stress Isometric dialog, which lists recent OpenPlant Isometrics Manager drawings created in AutoPIPE. The drop-down pick-list provides the ability to review the list of exported Isometrics and also to select any of these files to review/modify in OpenPlant Isometrics Manager. This list is limited to the maximum number of entries defined in the autoplan.cnf settings file.
After saving the current Stress Isometric to an external DWG, DGN, or DXF file, the AutoPIPE Isometric Manager Options dialog displays.
The Plot tab enables you to select different Isometric options related to the Isometric plot.
