Multiphysics Example coupling Structures, Fluid Flow, Thermal Effects and Mass Transfer

The above animations demonstrate several Multiphysics features in a single model. A transient analysis of a fluid flowing past two thin flexible solid barriers is performed in this example, as shown in the schematic below. The lower barrier is assumed to be porous. The fluid at the inlet is subjected to a normal traction load. A prescribed temperature is applied to the solid top and bottom walls at the inlet side, and a prescribed mass concentration is also imposed along a line at the fluid inlet.

Clearly visible in the animations are the deformations of the barriers due to the fluid flow, and the non-symmetry in the flow and mass concentration due to the flow through the porous barrier.
