Is there a way to report member end forces with respect to the global axis?
Member end forces are reported with respect to the local axes of the members by default. However it is possible to get these forces reported with respect to the global axes. The workflow using the graphic user interface (GUI) is indicated in the picture below
The corresponding command is listed below. One can directly put in the command in the editor as well instead of using the workflow using the GUI suggested above
PRINT MEMBER FORCES GLOBAL LIST xx ...where xx represents the member numbers for which the reporting of the forces are required
Once the input is provided either through the GUI or through the command file, one needs to run the analysis and the member forces in terms of the global axes would then be printed as part of the analysis output file as shown next
