How to import a section from the Section Wizard into STAAD.Pro?
- Create your built-up section in Section Wizard.
- Go to File -> Export to STAAD User Table.
- Choose General. You will see the Open User Table dialog box appear.
- Either Select an existing UPT file or create a new one and click Open.
- Choose the desired units.
- You will see the General dialog box appear:

- Input a name (shown as TEST2 above). You will notice that the properties are shown here.
- Click OK.
- Close Section Wizard and go back into STAAD.pro.
- Go to Specification -> User Table -> User Table Manager.
- Click New Table.
- Check the box that says External Table.
- Browse to the UPT table that you created/selected in step # 4 above.
- Select the Section Type as General
- Close out of the dialog box to return to the Modeling Mode.
- Go to the Specification tab. You will see the Properties dialog box appear on the right hand side of the screen.
- Click on the User Table button.
- Select the appropriate user table, click on the section name, and click the Add button.
- Assign the section to the appropriate members.
