Problem

In MicroStation 2004 Edition, it is possible to add data fields in existing text, because the data fields were shown with <(><<)><(><<)> >> symbols. How to do this in MicroStation XM Edition?

Solution

In MicroStation XM Edition, it is possible to insert data fields in existing text if Text Editor Style in the Text category of the Workspace Preferences is set to Dialog Box, WYSIWYG, or Key-in.

In MicroStation V8i datafields can also be inserted using the Word Processor right-click menu.
