Problem

What does the "Additional Font Files" option on the Install process do?

Solution

This installs font files in workspace/system/symb directory. They are the following SHX fonts:

Kanji.shx
kanjibig.shx
R>korbig.shx
tradchbig.shx

The kanjibig.shx, korbig.shx and tradchbig.shx are known as Big Fonts. They are double-byte font files that could contain as many as thousands non-ASCII characters. It is useful to have these font files installed when receiving files that were created in internationalized versions of MicroStation or AutoCAD.

These files are typically paired up with a single-byte font file containing the standard ASCII characters, Kanji.shx is a single-byte font file typically paired wit
h kanjibig.shx.

The characters in these fonts may be viewed and placed using the WYSIWYG Font Editor.
