When editing text the text style (particularly the "slant" setting) changes on the text after being edited.
After the user accepts the editing, the text reverts to a Slant of 30.0.
This is where the slant angle is coming from. Even though you are using "Text Style None", this is still a text style and MicroStation will use the setting from text style none. Text style none just means that you are not using a custom text style. What you will need to do is in the "Text Style" dialog box click on the "General" tab. On the right hand side you will see a list of settings that you can check on. Check on the Italics option this will then allow you to modify the slant angle. Then set slant angel to 0.
The Change Text Attributes command does not take it's settings from the Text style dialog box so you will not see the 30.0 slant value.
Match Text Attributes command uses the active styles settings from the text style that you are using so if you have it set to none it will use the slant setting 30.0 from text style none.
See TechNote 6210 on Text Styles which will also give you a better understanding and more information about them
