Error with automatic rotation of dimension text in.
When rotating a view, dimensions display as if oriented to the wrong view.
MicroStation dimension elements will read the rotation matrix of the view in which it was placed and display relative to that view's current rotation. That is, if you place a dimension in Window 1 while in the Top View and you look at the dimension in Window 2's Top View, the view appears the same. If you then rotate Window 1 to a Front View, the dimensions in Window 2 appear as if they were rotated to a Front View-they look like lines. You can change the active view to which a dimension refers by using the change dimension view command.
To determine from which vie w a dimension reads its rotation, use the Analyze Element tool (Element>Information) Scroll down in the Element Information text window. You'll note a line that has the scale at which the dimension was placed, and then the view
to which it refers.
To change this view:
Create a selection set of dimension elements you wish to change Key in change dimension view # (where # represents the new view from which you want the dimension to read its rotation) Enter a data point to accept the command
