Getting message "Can't load MATEDIT" when trying to open the Material editor dialog.
Possible reasons:
- MATEDIT.ma MDL application is corrupt or missing.
- MicroStation 2004 Edition was installed on top of an older version of MicroStation (most likely 08.01.02.15 or before)
Solutions:
- Check to see if the MATEDIT.ma is corrupt or missing.
1. Go to the location of where the MATEDIT.ma file should be (...Bentley/MicroStation/mdlsys/asneeded/)
2. Check the size and date of the file:
The file size = 240 Kb
The modified date = 5/11/2004 3:57 PM
If this is different (most likely file size is larger and/or date is later), then the MDL application was written to by an outside source.
This file will need to be replaced from either another installation on another workstation, or a new installation on the current workstation.
- If file size / Modify date = 232 Kb 4/11/2003 3:23 PM, this means MicroStation V8 2004 Edition was installed on top of MicroStation V8.1 08.01.02.15. This installation is unstable. MicroStation will need tobe installed in a new folder (not on top o f another installation).
