Problem

Layered textures are not working correctly.

After adding layers to the material, the mapping mode changes to "Parametric".
Display of layers in rendering are inconsistent with settings.
Some layers are incorrectly displaying a transparent background.

Solution

MS_PATTERN does not include ...\bentley\microstation\mdlsys\textures.

The texture layering system uses proceedure files that are delivered in

...\bentley\microstation\mdlsys\textures.

If MS_PATTERN was altered to not include a path to this location, the texture layering system will not function correctly.

1. Go to Workspace > Configuration > Rendering/Images category.
2. Highlight "Pattern Maps".
3. Click on Select ("Select Path for Pattern Maps" dialog opens.
4. Browse to ...\Bentley\Microstation\mdlsys\textures\
5. Click Add.
6. Click Done.
7. Save configuration.
8. Restart MicroStation.
