QUESTION: Is it possible to perform a run in RC Pier using only the Service III load combination to check tensile stresses in the Pier cap reinforcing ?

ANSWER:

If Service III Load group is selected and  if the user clicks on Auto Design button then the user will get a warning message saying “ NO STRENGTH OR EXTREME EVENT LOAD COMBINATION SELECTED”.  In reality the program does not design the Pier Cap or Column for Service III Load combination and the same holds good for any other Service Load groups.
