How can I save my updated steel database for cold formed structures so they do not get overwritten when I get STAAD updates? I have updated my current database and want to save it as a local database that can be reloaded each time?

The section database is stored in below location.

C:\ProgramData\Bentley\Engineering\STAAD.Pro CONNECT Edition\Sections

Program Data is a hidden folder by default. You may need to unhide it from view settings.

In that folder you will have all the section databases. If you know the databases where you have made changes, copy them to some other folder before upgrading to next version. Once done, you can paste them back in the same folder path.
