QUESTION: Does RC pier checks the service tensile stresses in the columns and verify that the longitudinal steel does not have stresses exceeding 24ksi in Service loading ?

ANSWER:

Currently it is not possible to check the tensile stresses in column reinforcement using RC pier.

If there is any particular requirement from DOT then a separate hand calculation needs to be done.
