The Recalc Window 2. Extended Settings: 2. Pre-stressing allows the users to set additional definitions for the calculations related to the stressing of tendons:
- Update CS Values: (-) duct areas: The area of the ducts is excluded in a new cross-section property calculated at the Structure check.
- Update CS Values : (+) tendon areas: The Tendon steel area is included in the updated cross-section property calculation for the Grout action.
- Update CS Values : (+) grouted areas: The grout area between the duct and the tendon is included in the updated cross-section property calculation in the Grout action.
Note: The updated CS values are only used for post-processing, such as the stress calculation and design code checks. They're helpful when the sum of the ducts' area is a significant percentage of the original full CS. The main stiffness calculation for the static analysis is always performed with the original CS of the beam elements. The internal forces are always related to the original element axis, i.e., the center of gravity of the original CS.
- Include el. comp. losses for ungrouted: Include Elastic Compression losses for ungrouted tendons: The losses in tendon forces due to elastic compression of the concrete for ungrouted tendons are treated in the same way as for grouted tendons. Note: no losses in ungrouted tendons will be calculated if the option is not selected.
- Ext. tendon (prim.+ sec. throughout): External tendon with primary and secondary components: The external tendons are treated the same way as internal tendons, with results split into primary and secondary components like the expected engineering solution. The Default option is the non-selection of this because it uses a more accurate model as actual external cable elements, with results as the total component, that allows for large deflections of the external tendon independently from the element.
- Store slave tend. geom. as 3D points: Store slave tendon geometry as tridimensional points will store them as absolute 3D coordinates. Note: The tendon geometry is stored relative to the element points if the option is not selected.
