MINIMUM DESIGN LATERAL FORCE (Clause 7.2.2)

IS 1893(Part 1):2016 added in Cl 7.2.2 that buildings and portions shall be designed and constructed to resist at least the effects of design lateral force(Ah). But regardless of design earthquake forces, buildings shall have lateral load resisting systems capable of resisting a horizontal forces not less than minimum design lateral force (VBmin). But if any of the values of VBX and VBZ is less than VBmin, the value of VBmin should be considered as the base shear value (VB). In table 7, the values of percent of seismic weights to be used are provided with respective Zone.

STAAD.Pro CE considers this requirement in equivalent static analysis for horizontal (X and Z) directions for IS1893(Part-1)-2016 code on using a seismic definition .The following can be seen in STAAD.Pro output.
