How to apply and edit a Radial dimensional constraint

Background

Applying a Radial dimensional constraint to a Circle or Arc is done using the Dimension Element Constraint tool, which can can be found under


Ribbon:  Drawing > Constraints > Dimensional
Ribbon: Modeling > Constraints > Dimensional

Steps to Accomplish

To apply a Radial Dimension Constraint

  1. Select the Dimension Element Constraint tool
  2. Select the Circle or Arc to be constrained

  3. In the Tool Settings window select Radius (or Diameter)

       4.    Place a Data point to place the dimension, a pop up will display the current size and you have three options

    1. Enter another data point in the view to except the current value
    2. Type in a new value and enter another data point in the view to except (The graphics will also change with new value)

    3. If defined pick a Variable to be applied and enter another data point in the view to except (The graphics will also change with new value)

To edit a Radial Dimension Constraint

  1. Select the 'Element Selection' tool
  2. Move the cursor over the Dimension to edit and Right mouse click and select ' Edit Dimension '

       3.  Enter a new value or pick from the available list and enter a data point in the view to except
