Question: How do I create the payload for Installing OBD?
Answer:
- Copy "Setup_OpenBridgeDesigner_x64_10.10.20.34.exe" to a drive that has enough free space (over 50 GB)folder (for example "C:\Temp\" folder)
- Create a folder where you want to download the payload (in example shown below I have “OBD_CONNECT” folder under “C:\Temp\” folder)
- Open Admin command prompt and navigate to where the “Setup_OpenBridgeDesignerSuitex64_23.00.01.024.exe" resides (in our example to “C:\Temp\”) and run the command as shown:
C:\Temp>Setup_OpenBridgeDesignerSuitex64_23.00.01.024.exe /layout C:\temp\OBD_CONNECT /full
This will start the download process of all the installation files:

- (Optional) To make changes to the default OpenBridge Designer Configuration click on "Configure"

- To change the path of delivered Configuration, click the Browse button next to the Configuration Path field.
In the Browse For Folder dialog that opens, browse to the drive and folder where you want to deliver the default Configuration, then click OK.

- To set up custom or shared Configuration, select the Custom Configuration (plus Delivered Configuration) radio button. Then click the Browse button next to the Network Configuration field.
In the Browse For Folder dialog that opens, browse to the drive and folder where your custom Configuration is located, then click OK.

- Click Next. The Deployment Image Settings page opens.
- Change the deployment image setting.
By default, Passive UI Mode is selected.

- Select Generative Components and ProjectWise Drive if desired.
- Finally click on Layout to start the download process of all the installation files:

- Click on Finish to complete the payload download:

- To install the OBD, navigate to the C:\temp/OBD_CONNECT folder and launch "Setup_OpenBridgeDesignerSuitex64_23.00.01.024.exe".
NOTE: To download other versions, replace the setup EXE file name to the version you are downloading the payload for.
