Greyed out Word Processor text editor dialog

 Product:MicroStation
 Version:08.05.02.27
 Environment:N\A
 Area:Annotations
 Subarea:N\A

Problem Description

The Word Processor text editor dialog is grayed out when placing or editing text.

Steps to Resolve

Option 1: Re-install Internet Explorer

This will make sure the following requirements for the Word Processor are true:

  1. The registry key named HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\DHTMLEdit.DHTMLEdit\CLSID must be equal to
    {2D360200-FFF5-11D1-8D03-00A0C959BC0A}
  2. dhtmled.ocx must reside in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Triedit folder.

Option 2: Upgrade MicroStation

This was resolved in MicroStation V8 XM (08.09.02.28). Upgrading to this version or newer will correct this.
