Overview
OpenBridge GenerativeComponents comes as a companion feature for OpenBridge Designer or OpenBridge Modeler and several other Civil Open products.
Method
This article shows how to install Generative Components.
- For New installations: When installing OpenBridge Designer, or any Open Application, on the install dialog's landing page, there is a check box for OpenBridge GenerativeComponents under Companion features.
- For existing installations: If the software has been installed already, the above menu can be accessed by going to Control Panel > Programs and Features > Apps > Installed Apps. Right click on OpenBridge Designer or Modeler or at the three dots button and select Modify:
- After the modify dialog comes up, you need to tick the box for OpenBridge Generative Components
- Select Modify and proceed with the installation.
- Once Generative Components is installed, you can access the Computational Design Workflow when searching thru the workflows.
- If the GC is still not accessible, check the Configuration CFG file. It needs to have a line with GC = 1. This should be found in the installation path folder, for OBM 2024: C:\Program Files\Bentley\OpenBridge Modeler 2024.00\OpenBridgeModeler\config\appl. Another important detail, for the last line, "enter" is needed at the end of the configuration file, otherwise the CGF cannot be read.
